She Cared For Him, Then Killed Him

A Lansing woman is scheduled to be sentenced today in brutal slaying of an elderly man that she had once worked for as a caretaker.
26 year old Dymond Squires and 27 year old Andrew Johnson had been charged in the slaying of 78 year old John Abraham of Delta Township.

She said they need money and that she knew Johnson had a safe with money in it.

The talked their way into his home in early July of 2016.

Johnson was then beaten to death with a hammer and his throat was slashed.

Johnson went to trial and was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.

Squires worked out a plea deal and is to be sentenced today to a minimum of 49 years in prison.
