Dearborn police say the situation started in Melvindale.
A man in one car shot at a man in another car, after which the car with the wounded man drove to the hospital.
The man followed the victim to the hospital, after which he killed himself behind the hospital building.
Police say the situation was sparked over a relationship, with the ex-boyfriend shooting the current boyfriend. The ex-boyfriend is the one who killed himself.
