Bad Body Parts Lead To Prison

A Grosse Pointe Park businessman who made a living selling diseased body parts is to be sentenced today in Detroit Federal Court.
Prosecutors want Arthur Rathburn sentenced to at least 14 years in prison.

They say he sold body parts that he knew were diseased to unsuspecting medical personnel who used the tissue for research.

They also say he made a killing along the way …. bringing in over 13.3 million dollars over a 16 year period.

He was finally caught in 2016 when his wife pled guilty to a charge of taking diseased body parts to a medical conference in Washington and agreed to testify against him.

He was convicted following a jury trial in January.
