Jeep Takes Center Stage At FCA

Jeep and Ram trucks will have a bigger role in the future of the Fiat Chrysler company. But Chrysler will not.
Fiat Chrysler rolled out a plan for the future that leans heavily on S-U-V’s and trucks.

The company is expanding it’s products in Ram, Jeep, Alfa Romeo, and Maserati.
Jeep will get a full sized 3-row seat vehicle. Ram will be getting a new heavy-duty truck, and a new off-road pickup.
The Chrysler nameplate will survive, but no new products are planned for Chrysler.
CEO Sergio Marchionne says North America will continue to pump in profits.  Marchionne acquired Chrysler in 2009 out of bankruptcy, and that move saved Fiat Chrysler as profits from the U-S propped up the rest of the company.
Marchionne has set a path of introducing electric or hybrid versions on all product lines, as he is set for retirement next year.
