Teens Going To Instagram

America’s teens are online more than ever, but they aren’t spending so much of that time on Facebook.

A Pew Research Center study found that just 51% of teens aged 13-17 use Facebook, down 20 percentage points since the last survey in 2015.

YouTube is the most popular platform with 85% of teens saying they used it. Instagram was second, with 72%, and Snapchat was third, with 69%.

About 89% of teens said they were online at least several times a day, with 45% saying they were online “almost constantly”. About 95% of teens said they owned a smartphone, up from 75% two years ago.
