7 Mile Bloods, Round 2

It’s back to court today for some members of one of Detroit’s most violent gangs, the ‘Seven Mile Bloods.’
The gang has been blamed for terrorizing neighbors, assassinating rivals had helping fuel the nation’s opioid epidemic.

The government says gang members have taken part in more than 14 shootings, at least four homicides and 11 attempted murders.

In April, a first wave of trials against four members and associates ended with an acquittal and a hung jury.

A second wave of trials is scheduled to start today in Detroit federal Court.

More than a dozen defendants are awaiting trial.
