Great-Grandparents Charged In Baby’s Death

A preliminary exam is scheduled to resume today for a Taylor couple charged in the death of their great-grandson.

65 year old Quentin May and his 52 year old wife Rebecca are charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Duwan Langhan.

The infant was found dead in the family home last October.

An autopsy determined the boy had died from swallowing drugs that had been prescribed for his great grandparents.

A neighbor testified on the first day of the hearing last month that the couple came to her home carrying the child screaming for help.

A defense attorney said it was a tragic accident and that the couple should not have been charged with a crime

Prosecutors charged the couple had failed to keep their medications in a safe manner and thus failed to provide a safe environment for the child.
