Vital Decisions On New Bridge

It’ll be a big project. And Howe.
The builder of the Gordie Howe bridge has been revealed, along with the kind of bridge it will be.

The Gordie Howe Bridge over the Detroit River will be built and operated by a consortium of companies called Bridging North America. It’s major companies are in Canada. It’s worked on a number of major public works projects.
The bridge will be cable-supported, with cables strung between two giant towers to support the lanes of traffic. It’ll be the largest cable-supported bridge in North America. The towers will be about as high as the Renaissance Center.
The project will employ about 2-thousand construction jobs on each side of the border.
Site work in Windsor is almost complete… way ahead of the Detroit side.
The bridge authority says the final cost will be about 4-billion dollars. Canada pays the whole bill, but keeps all the tolls.
