Chemical Bank is a major presence in outstate Michigan, and now Chemical Bank is making a major move in southeast Michigan. The bank, based in Midland, says it plans to build a 20-story headquarters building in downtown Detroit. Chemical Bank says it will bring 500 jobs to Detroit. The new project will also include retail and residential space.
Chemical Bank says there will be no jobs losses at it’s current headquarters in Midland. It says the building should be ready for business in 2 years. Chemical Financial Corporation is the result of a merger between Chemical and Talmer Bank two years ago. Talmer was the major player in the merger.
