Levin Tries To Keep Congress Job In The Family

He wants to replace his dad in congress.

Today’s Democrat primary includes the state’s 9th congressional district.
The seat belonged to 86 year old Sander Levin.

He had been in congress since 1983 and announced plans to retire.

His son Andy is on the ballot to replace him.

The Bloomfield Township resident has a background as a union organizer and had worked in the adminsitration of former Governor Jennifer Granholm.

The latest polls have him with a big lead over his chief rival, former state representative Ellen Lipton of Huntington Woods. Lipton has waged a vigorous campaign.

The district is strongly Democrat.
