The Michigan Primary

The August Primary Election is here and more than 7 million Michiganders are registered to vote.
To help you navigate the polls- here’s what you need to know.

Polls will  remain open until 8 pm.
Any voter in line at 8 pm will be allowed to cast his or her ballot.
A photo ID such as a driver’s license will be needed to vote.
Voters can sign an affidavit if they don’t have their photo ID with them.

Visit the Michigan voter information center website to double check polling locations registration status, and a sample ballot.
Voting Rules –
Voters Can’t split their ticket in the August primary
Voters participating must confine their votes to a single party column.

Displaying election -related materials at the polls are prohibited in Michigan.
This includes clothing and buttons as well as materials such as pamphlets, fliers,and stickers.
Voters are also not allowed to take any photos, selfies, or videos while at the polls.
