Ex-FCA Exec To Be Sentenced

The highest-ranking Fiat Chrysler official indicted to date in a vast conspiracy designed to corrupt contract negotiations with the UAW learns his fate today.
59 year old Alphonse  Iacobelli of Rochester Hills had been the automakers vice president of employee relations and was the lead negotiator in the 2009 Chrysler-UAW labor agreement.

He pled guilty in January to conspiracy and tax evasion, admitting he was part of a massive scandal involving 4.5 million dollars in illegal cash and gifts that was secretly passed along to senior UAW officials.

He faces up to eight years in prison, but prosecutors say he deserves a lesser sentence because he has been cooperating with their investigation and has, in fact, help expose what they are calling ‘vast labor-management corruption .
