Auto Production Slows Due To Japan Quake

Toyota is halting production at some factories in Japan due to a deadly earthquake last week.

Assembly lines are coming to a halt at 3 plants that produce Lexus vehicles and the Toyota Land cruiser.
The shutdown affects all Toyota and Lexus lines in Japan.

The earthquake hit the northernmost part of Japan, killing more than a dozen people and leaving several million power outages.
The factories in the dark make transmissions. So they affect all of the assembly plants.
North American production will not see a major impact.

Nissan and Honda have no factories in the quake region.
