EPA Will Hold P-FAS Meetings Here

Michigan residents will be able to tell federal officials what they want the government to do about P-FAS contamination.

P-FAS is an acronym for poly-fluorinated chemicals which have been found in groundwater, rivers, and lakes in dozens of communities… first discovered in Michigan, and then in other states.
Recent findings of the chemicals in drinking water near Kalamazoo increased public concern about the chemicals, which have been used to repel water, de-ice aircraft, and for other uses, for many years.
An official with the Environmental Protection Agency told a congressional hearing last week that plans for a Michigan hearing were canceled because the state government turned it down.
The EPA now indicates it may hold two public meetings in Michigan… times and places not yet specified. More than 30 sites have confirmed P-FAS contamination, and the list is growing.
