Council Rejects Hotel Expansion

Detroit City Council says no to a plan by the owners of the Crowne Plaza Hotel downtown to build a second tower to the hotel.
They cite room conditions in the existing hotel, employee pay, and failure to go along with the workers forming a union. It’s the second time the council has quashed the expansion plans of the hotel, which is at Washington and Jefferson in front of Cobo Center.
