A Waterford Township woman is due in court today in the murder of her husband. She had been the victim of years of abuse, and beatings.
It’s a preliminary exam for 51 year old Tina Talbot.
She had dialed 9-1- just before noon on September 14th and told the operator that she shot and killed her husband.
When police arrived at the home on Meadowwood Drive, they found her 45 year old husband’s body in the back yard.
A semi-automatic handgun was also recovered.
The couple’s 7 year old son was in the home, but was not hurt.
He is being cared for by family members.
Police have not said what led to the shooting, but family members of the woman say she had been dealing for years with physical and mental abuse for 20 years and lived in constant fear for her life.
