A police dog was shot and killed, and the man who shot him was shot and killed by police in St Clair Shores. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting outside the Lakeland Manor Banquet Hall.
Police said a man with a gun ignored demands from officers and fled on foot.
Axe, a K-9, was used to track the suspect, who shot the dog with a handgun. St.
Clair Shores police officers returned fire, striking the man.
The man was 29 year old Thaddeus Gray of Detroit.
Axe was on the police force for 4 years.
