Incoming SOS Eyes Electoral Change

Secretary of State-elect Jocelyn Benson is calling for a national debate over the Electoral College.

Benson told a U of M symposium that conversations will increase on election reforms and dumping the Electoral College.

Many Democrats want to get rid of the Electoral College process, which was won by Donald Trump in 2016, even though Hilary Clinton got more of the raw vote. Democrat Al Gore got more votes than George W. Bush in 2000, but Bush was elected president because he won more states and got more electoral votes.
