A 20 year old Troy man accused of killing his aunt in due in court today for a probable cause conference.
Nayir Masrur is charged with 1st degree murder in the November 12th slaying of 50 year old Rubab Huq.
She was a physician who specialized in family and emergency medicine.
Police had been called to her home on Shoreline and found the woman’s body.
It appears she had been beaten with a 15 pound dumbell.
When police arrived, they say Masrur jumped from a 2nd story window and fled.
He was later found hiding in a nearby marshy area.
His attorney is expected to request a competency exam for his client.
