A 1-year-old girl has died after police say she was strangled by a gate that had been placed on top of her playpen.
The toddler, Emily English, was found dead at a home in Grands Rapids..
Kent County Medical Examiner confirmed the girl’s head got tangled in the components of a gate that was used to cover the playpen.
The gate had been placed there to keep the toddler from getting out.
