Help For Transit Plans

One way to spiff up neighborhood activities is better transportation. New ways are being used to get around. A workshop is taking place for those who want to be part of the action.

The workshop is aimed at community officials, transit agencies, planners, school districts and engineers.

SEMCOG, The Southeast Michigan Council of Governments, says details on the Transportation Alternatives Program will be given tomorrow through its SEMCOG University.

SEMCOG says it will receive at least 5-million dollars for the 2020 program that funds numerous programs including bicycler facilities, shared-use paths. green infrastructure, and safe routes to school.

To be eligible for the 2020 program, participants must register by 5pm of February 20th.

Funding decisions are expected to be announced in June.
