US, Canada Autoworkers Appeal To GM

The UAW says it is delivering 4-thousand letters to General Motors from employees that will be affected by plant closings—- telling the company what it would mean for them and their families.

General Motors tells the Unifor union it will decide by Jan. 7 whether it will work with the union to keep open its Oshawa complex next year.
GM announced it would not be allocating a new product to its Oshawa complex after December 2019 resulting in the layoff of 2,500 hourly employees, 300 salaried, and more at supply plants.

Unifor announced an advertising campaign in Canada and the U.S. aimed at keeping the plant open.
