Ghosn Associate Released From Japan Jail

Former Nissan Motor executive Greg Kelly was being examined in a hospital in Tokyo a day after he was released on bail from a Tokyo jail where his former boss Carlos Ghosn is still being held.

Kelly, an American who was released late on Christmas Day after more than a month in detention, has been charged with conspiring to under-report Ghosn’s income. He posted bail of$640,000.
Kelly suffers from a spinal problem causing numbness, tingling and shooting pain , according to his wife in Tennessee.
She says Kelly was scheduled to have surgery in Nashville, but flew to Japan last month after being tricked that he was needed in person at a board meeting. Kelly was arrested soon after his arrival.

Ghosn was re-arrested on suspicions that he shifted personal trades to Nissan to make it responsible for millions of dollars in persoanl losses in the stock market. Nissan says “The company’s own investigation uncovered substantial and convincing evidence of misconduct.”  Ghosn and Kelly say they did nothing wrong.
