Whitmer Taps Incoming Department Heads

Gov.- elect Whitmer has announced a number of hi-level appointments in state government.
Whitmer will name a clean energy executive to head the state department of Environmental Quality. Liesl Eichler Clark has been president of Michigan E-I-B-C and is a partner of 5 Lakes Energy. Those are consulting firms. Clark served as a deputy director in the state department of Energy and Labor under Gov. Granholm.

Paul Ajegba will be appointed director of the Michigan Department of Transportation. Ajegba is a regional engineer for M-DOT and has been with M-DOT for 28 years.

Daniel Eichinger will become director of the Department of Natural Resources. Eichinger is currently executive director of the Michigan United Conservation Clubs.

The Michigan Department of Agriculture will be headed by Gary McDowell, a farmer and former State Representative.

Joe Gasper will be named director of Michigan State Police.
Gasper is currently a state police captain and is the emergency manager of the state police.

Brig. General Paul Rogers will lead the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. Rogers is deputy commander of the 46th Military Police Command.
