Campbell Soup has sold the Garden Fresh Gourmet business, in Ferndale, to a Canadian-owned food company.
Fountain of Health USA has acquired Garden Fresh. Campbell Soup bought the salsa and chip business from the founders, Jack and Annette Aronson, for 231-million dollars in 2015. But Campbell has been losing money and is trying to straighten out the business.
Aronson had said he made a bid to buy back his old company. He said he was afraid that a new owner would move out of Ferndale and leave the employees hi and dry.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
