Controversial Land Deal Comes To Court

A preliminary exam is to continue today for Detroit Businessman Robert Carmack, who has been accused of stealing a million dollar parcel of land from the city of Detroit.

Prosecutors say the 59 year old Woodhaven resident sold property that he didn’t own.

It was land tied to a decade-old deal with the city of Detroit.

Carmack has died any wrongdoing, he says Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan had charges filed against him after he showed footage obtained by a private investigator he

had hired showing Duggan visiting a condo in Novi.

He said this indicated the mayor didn’t life in Detroit.

Duggan said Carmack’s actions were in retaliation for the city refusing to drop lawsuits against him and accused him of extortion.
