Distracted Driver In Court For UP Crash

A series of bad decisions have left one person dead, another injured and two others facing charges.

It all happened on I-75 in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

It was January 10th.

Four people who had been drinking were driving on the freeway.

The driver lost control and got stuck in a snow bank.

Two of the passengers got out of the car and started walking along the freeway.

They were hit by a car driven by 20 year old Jennifer Campbell of St. Ignace.

One survived the crash, but the other was killed.

It was later determined that Campbell had been using social media on her phone at the time of the crash.

She was charged with reckless driving and is due in court today.

The man who was driving the car that got stuck in the snow has been charged with drunk driving.
