Detroit Towing Scandal Trial

A Detroit police officer is scheduled to stand trial today on charges in a bribery-towing scheme.
Deonne Dotson was one of six officers charged with accepting money to send stolen vehicles with minimum damage to Danial Dabish at his Livernois Collision shop.

Prosecutors said the cars would be stripped, the insurance companies would be billed for replacement parts, but that the original parts were then put back on the cars.

Dabish was charged with mail fraud in a criminal information, which indicates a guilty plea is expected.

The others officers charged along with Dotson pled guilty to extortion last year.
