The body of 53 year old Emanuel Manos was found by a sonar underwater vehicle 520 feet deep in Lake Michigan, near the site of the plane wreckage.  Crews used the autonomous machine to recover the body of Manos, who was the president of the Detroit Salt Company, which operates the Detroit salt mine.
The search continues for the body of the plane’s pilot, 65 year old Randal Dippold, who ran a flight service in Howell.
The plane crashed into Lake Michigan May 12th about 4 miles off Frankfort.
The plane left Ontonagan in the U-P and was heading to Monroe when the pilot radioed they were having engine trouble. And then the plane dropped from radar.
