Detroit Police identifies the victim in a domestic shooting in Garden City as 34-year-old Sgt. Elaine Williams, a 14-year veteran and a “rising star” in the department.
Garden City Police will only say the shooting happened inside her home on Belton Street. A second person was also shot in front of the house.
Family members of Sgt. Williams say she had enough of her boyfriend’s drinking and was going to throw him out. They also say police told them she was shot in the head and her boyfriend faked his own shooting.
His condition has not been released.
