Businessman Who Is After Duggan Back In Court

Detroit-area businessman Robert Carmack is scheduled to be arraigned today in circuit court on a charge he defrauded the city of Detroit in a land deal.
The 59 year old Woodhaven resident was charged with four felonies in connection with his one million dollar sale of a ten acre property in southwest Detroit 3 years ago.

Authorities say he never completed a 250-thousand dollar purchase of the site.

36th District Court Judge Cylenthia Miller bound Carmack over for trial at the conclusion of his preliminary exam, but also expressed reservations.

She said testimony from two city officials that Carmack didn’t own the property and documents in Carmack’s possession that indicated that he did own the land caused her to have  serious concerns that would have to be sorted out at a trial.
