‘Ghost’ Doesn’t Scare Feds

They called him the ghost and he had been sought by federal investigators for nearly 4 years on charges of running a sex trafficking ring at a Detroit motel.

The ghost was caught last week and is due in Detroit federal Court today for a detention hearing.

Prosecutors say 50 year old Darrick Bell kept women as sex slaves at the rundown Victory Inn on Michigan Avenue near the Dearborn border.

He was caught last week, hiding out at a motel in Monroe.

Investigators say Bell ran a sex and drug ring that had as many as 20 women living in squalor and forced to have sex in the motel rooms.

One of the largest federal raids in Detroit history in January of 2017 brought an end to the operation and forced the demolition of the motel.

Bell was said to have fled just before that raid.
