A vigil was held to remember Fadi Shakour, a Detroit Police officer killed in the line of duty 1 year ago.
The vigil was held on the west side.
Officer Shakour was working crowd control when he was hit by a car that took off.
The family and co-workers gathered in his honor at midnight.
Shakour was a victim of Detroit’s hit and run epidemic.
The man who hit him, 19 year old Jonathon Cole, was sentenced to a prison term up to 20 years.
