New Safety Systems Bug Drivers

New Hi-tech systems to make driving safer are being disabled by many drivers who don’t like them.

Lane keeping and centering systems are a turn off for many drivers— who are turning them off.
A J-D Power tech study says some of the new systems are bothersome— beeping at the drivers who don’t understand how they work. The alerts are there to help keep vehicles in the correct lane, and avoid crashes. At least 23 percent turn them off.
And more owners of new vehicles are not happy with entertainment and internet apps— 46 percent of surveyed owners say they don’t need it… 29 percent don’t use any built-in apps.
Among those who are happy with automatic collision protection, the Kia Stinger, Ford Expedition, and Chevy Blazer, were highest in their segments, according to J-D Power.
