Trump Tweets To GM: Come Back To America

President  Trump jabs GM over China.
Trump sent out a tweet that General Motors opened big auto plants in China, before he took office, and that the company should move operations back to the U.S.
He says, “”General Motors, which was once the Giant of Detroit, is now one of the smallest auto manufacturers there. They moved major plants to China, BEFORE I CAME INTO OFFICE. This was done despite the saving help given them by the USA. Now they should start moving back to America again?”

The president’s tweets come after GM has made cutbacks that have left the automaker with 46-thousand unionized workers, the smallest UAW membership among the Detroit 3. That’s according to Bloomberg News. GM did not comment on Trump’s tweets.

GM has said it builds vehicles in the countries where the vehicles are sold.

A former GM chairman, Daniel Ackerson, once said during an event in China that China was the crown jewel of the GM universe.
