Heroin In Cereal Case Goes To Court

A Flint-area man is due in court today for a probable causing hearing in the death five years ago of his wife
by placing heroin into her cereal.
She was found dead in her bed by a neighbor in September of 2014.

The cause of death was initially ruled an accidental overdose.

Last month it was changed to a homicide.

Investigators say Jason Harris had asked co-workers about pills that were odorless that he could put into his wife’s food, at one point had offered a man 5-thousand dollars to kill his wife and also
made the same offer to a co-worker.

They say he also told another woman that he needed to get rid of his wife, but didn’t want a divorce because he would have to pay child support for their two children.

Harris was arrested last month in his home where he was living with a woman who had moved in right after his wife had died.
