The preliminary exam of a 33 year old Detroit man charged with 2nd degree murder in the death of a nine year old girl resumes today.
The girl had been mauled to death by three pit bulls that had belonged to 33 year old Pierre Cleveland.
Little Emma Hernandez had been riding her bike near her home on Florida Street on August 19th.
Prosecutors say the dogs knocked her off her bike and attacked her.
In the first day of the exam, another neighbor of Cleveland said two of the dogs had been loose in the neighborhood and attacked him in August of last year.
Today’s court hearing is to determine if Cleveland will be bound over for trial.
