GM Contract Expected To Pass

The UAW will announce whether workers have chosen to ratify or reject a new contract with General Motors after a strike which has been going on for almost 6 weeks.
Today is the last day of voting. Most have voted to accept the contract.
Some union locals have told members to get ready to return to work.
The proposed contract includes a big signing bonus, a pay raise, a path to permanent jobs for temporary employees, and no changes in health care coverage.
If it passes, 3 GM plants would close.
The Detroit-Hamtramck plant would be retooled to produce some new electric vehicles.
