Pot Stores On Local Ballots

Voters in four Detroit-area communities are being asked to decide today whether their local businesses should be allowed to sell marijuana.

In Wayne County a proposal on the ballot in Allen Park would allow for a maximum of three stand-alone retail stores and three micro-businesses that would be licensed to grow up to 150 marijuana plants for processing or sale.

In Lincoln Park, a proposal would allow two licensed retail facilities and one licensed business to distribute marijuana.

In Oakland County, Walled Lake voters are being asked to approve the creation of 8 facilities for pot sales.

A proposal on the ballot in Keego Harbor would allow eight retail outlets, four for recreational marijuana and 4 for medical marijuana.
