A Virtual Day at The DIA!

Thursday, March 19 2020 ~ Are you spending the day social distancing online? If so, the Detroit Institute of Arts has a field trip (of sorts) planned for you!

Even though the museum is closed right now, you can still brows a carefully-curated collection created for consumption from the comforts of your couch.

For those keeping kids occupied, there are learning resources like scavenger hunts, lesson plans, and multimedia presentations, each covering a different historic topic or medium.

You’ll also be able to navigate the Institute’s more than 60,000 works, with the backstory on popular attractions like Diego Rivera’s Detroit Industry Murals and Van Gogh\’s Self-Portrait.

As well, you’ll find more than 10 years of DIA history on their YouTube Channel. Cataloged are profiles on special exhibits and events, plus curator talks covering the museum’s various galleries.

Read for a day at the museum? The doors are open right now at DIA.org.
