DETROIT, November 23, 2021 ~ Monday, 760 WJR and The Celani Family Foundation presented Hunger-Free in the D, which helped to raise funds for Detroit’s Capuchin Soup Kitchen and Gleaners Food Bank.

Food prices have gone up so much that the different things that the kitchen has to buy have been up 15, 20 percent in the last few months,” said The Celani Family Foundation Founder Tom Celani to 760 WJR‘s Paul W. Smith. “They need to spread it out farther, so this year more importantly than ever we have more people that need food, and the prices are up.
The annual event was broadcast live from Palazzo di Bocce in Lake Orion, with support from Hoover and Associates, NECA / IEBW Local 58, and Johnstone Supply.  To date, Hunger-Free in The D has raised more than $6 million dollars to eliminate Metro Detroit hunger and food insecurity.Visit HungerFreeInTheD.com for more info and to make a donation.
