DETROIT, March 17, 2022 ~ Thursday morning, 760 WJR and Paul W. Smith presented the Paul W. Smith 2022 Virtual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration. The event featured an array of Michigan’s political, civic, and business leaders, including Governor Gretchen Whitmer, President and CEO of The Children’s Foundation Larry Burns, Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, and more.
“I’ve now done the St. Patrick’s Day Show for 26 years out of the 36 years it has existed,” said 760 WJR’s Paul W. Smith. “We WILL be back with our big party, with our listeners, all together (we hope) next St. Patrick’s Day!”
The event, started by Detroit radio legend and former 760 WJR Host J. P. McCarthy, was first broadcast on St. Patrick’s Day live from the lobby of the 760 WJR Fisher Building offices in 1986.
