TROY, MICHIGAN, March 29, 2022 ~ Oakland Mall has been acquired for an undisclosed price by Troy-based MKiezi Investments LLC and its founder Mario Kiezi.
“This is one of the sleepiest sites in Metro Detroit that we are going to wake up,” Kiezi said. “We want it to be a community where you can shop, have fun and eat. We live in a world of experience where people want to see things in real life and experience them.”

“If you open up a shop here, well, you can retail, you can service the guests that come within the mall but you can also work out the back door where UPS can ship out about 150 boxes to the local community,” Kiezi said.
Proposed changes include farmer’s markets in the parking lot, new restaurants, and a name change for the facility. Additionally, Hobby Lobby will go into the old Sears location, and Longhorn Steakhouse will replace the now closed Logan’s Roadhouse.
