LANSING, July 15, 2022 ~ A new lawsuit has been filed seeking to remove Michigan Republican gubernatorial candidate Ryan Kelley from the ballot as he fights four misdemeanor charges due to his alleged involvement in the January 6 capitol riots.
Kelley has pleaded not guilty to all charges, though if found guilty, he cannot run due to violation of the US Constitution.
Kelley gained attention in 2020 due to his criticism of COVID-19 restrictions, his protests of the 2020 presidential election, and his calls for the arrests of Michigan Democrats Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Attorney General Dana Nessel, and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson.
