May 11, 2023 ~ The Detroit Lions will kick off in the first game of the 2023 NFL season!
The opening game, set for Sept. 7 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, will be a showdown between the Lions and the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs. The Lions will battle in at least four primetime games this season.
The last time the Lions opened the NFL season against the Super Bowl champion was in 1967, when the team faced off against the Green Bay Packers after they won Super Bowl I. For the first time since 2018, the Lions will host a Monday Night Football game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

May 12, 2023 ~ 760 WJR Senior Sports Analyst Steve Courtney tells Paul W. about the recent release of the NFL‘s 2023 schedule, and he says there are some high-profile matchups on the schedule for our Detroit Lions.
(CONTINUED) The Lions will play on their home turf eight times between September 2023 and January 2024, with the first home game taking place against the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 17. Their primetime games will be against the Chiefs, the Packers, the Raiders and the Dallas Cowboys.
Turkey Day will be delivered with an extra side of greens, with the Packers set to face the Lions Thanksgiving Day.
