Michigan Science Center Award Grant from NASA to Fund STEM Programs

July 31, 2023 ~ The Michigan Science Center just received a large grant that will allow local children to look to the stars.

NASA recently awarded the center located at 5020 John R St. in Detroit $800,000 that will go towards STEM learning programs, including aeronautics, according to the Detroit News. This grant is part of NASA’s Teams Engaging Affiliated Museums and Informal Institutions.

Michigan Science Center President and CEO Christian Greer spoke to 760 WJR‘s Kevin Dietz and Tom Jordan about the space programs coming to the center because of the grant.
