Michigan was the Fourth Highest State With Chronic Absentism Last School Year

Aug. 16, 2023 ~ Region President of the Michigan Association of Superintendents and Administrators Andrew Brodie spoke on “JR Morning with Guy Gordon” about how a new study shows Michigan‘s public schools had the fourth highest rate of student absenteeism in the 2021-22 school year. According to the study, 38.5% of students were chronically absent, up from 19.7% in 2018-19.
