Ford Reportedly Training Salary Employees For Blue-Collar Work in Case of UAW Strike

Aug. 21, 2023 ~ The Ford Motor Co. is preparing its salaried workers for a strike if UAW negotiations lead to a strike.

First reported by the Detroit Free Press, Ford is reportedly training salaried, white-collar workers to perform manual labor if union workers go on strike. Negotiations are ongoing, with the union’s current contract with Ford expiring Sept. 14.

The Detroit Bureau Editor-in-Chief Paul Eisenstein spoke more about Ford’s preparations for a potential strike on “Focus with Paul W. Smith.”
