ATLANTA, Aug. 24, 2023 ~ Former President Donald Trump appeared at the Fulton County Jail on Thursday, surrendering to authorities over more than a dozen charges connected with efforts to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results.

A nationally televised motorcade delivered the former president to the jail for processing, which included fingerprinting, a mug shot, and the assignment of his booking number, P01135809. Trump paid a $200,000 bond, reportedly financed through an Atlanta-area bail bondsman, before returning to his private 747 at Hartfield-Jackson International Airport

Aug. 25, 2023 ~ Fox News Correspondent and WJR contributor Ryan Schmelz discusses former President Donald Trump turning himself in at the Fulton County Jail last night.

CONTINUED: Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis charged Trump with 13 counts, including racketeering, conspiracy charges, and the solicitation of a public official to violate their oath of office. Willis has asked for an Oct. 23 trial date, a date which Trump’s legal team opposes.

Today marks the fourth time in less than a year that Trump has turned himself in to authorities. He surrendered in April over an alleged hush money scheme, in June over alleged mishandlings of classified documents, and once more earlier this month on federal charges associated with the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Trump remains in polling as the front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, leading his closest contender, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, by more than 30 points.
