DETROIT, Sept. 18, 2023 ~ Hopes were high Sunday as a raucous crowd invaded Ford Field for what many thought was a new day in Detroit Lions football.

Amped by the Lions’ week one win against the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs, those in attendance readied themselves for a rally, but instead found heartbreak.

Critical turnovers and an under-performing defense wouldn’t be undone by a fourth-quarter drive that tied the game and sent the teams into overtime.

In the final act, the Lions defense allowed two third-down conversions on a nine-play Seattle touchdown drive that led to a 37-31 Seahawks win.

The Lions fall to 1-1 on the season, with the team scheduled to welcome the 2-0 Atlanta Falcons to Ford Field next Sunday.

Lomas Brown, color analyst for the Detroit Lions Radio Network and host of WJR’s SportsWrap, talks more with Guy and Lloyd about the Detroit Lions overtime loss on “JR Mornings With Guy Gordon, Lloyd Jackson, and Jamie Edmonds.”
